Since Winemaker John Little's first Loony Red in 2005, this blend has remained a perennial favorite. Aged 20 months in American and French oak, it is bold and full-bodied with notes of plum, blackberry and chocolate where silky tannins meet a scaffolding of spice. Cabernet Sauvignon leads the parade of varietals followed by equal parts of Malbec and Merlot.

Malbec, which means "bad mouth" in French, is a complete misnomer for this wonderful, mouth friendly grape.  It produces a dark, purple-colored wine with flavors of sweet black fruit, raspberry, vanilla crème, and has hints of smoke, earth, leather, and white pepper. It can stand up to spicy Mexican, Cajun, Indian, Thai or Italian fare and goes perfectly with any barbecue.
